Job satisfaction is of great importance, not at
least because of the tight labor market situation prevailing in 2022, in which
demand for employees exceeds supply in many areas. At the same time, science is
also focusing more and more intensively on job satisfaction and in this
context, on employee involvement, too. The aim of this scientific work is to examine
the impact employee involvement has on job satisfaction. Employee involvement
is determined by the constructs decision-making scope in relation to the individual
work environment, decision-making scope in relation to the entire company, and
participative leadership style. The data collection was realized by a closed
questionnaire, which was filled out by 174 employees. Based on the results of
the study, it can be assumed that more scope for decision-making regarding the
individual work environment has a positive impact on job satisfaction.
Furthermore, a positive effect on job satisfaction can also be shown by more
scope for decision-making in relation to the entire company and by a participative
leadership style. In the results for all the constructs described above, no
difference can be found between women and men. There is thus a positive
correlation between employee involvement and job satisfaction, which confirms
the importance of employee involvement as an influencing factor on job
satisfaction.
