  Abstract (en):
This paper provides an insight into the field of “Inner resignation” and the problems of distinguishing inner resignation from other fields of demotivation or frustration. Furthermore the paper discusses the generally poor incidence of empiric scientific findings around the topic. The analysis of inner resignation within this paper focuses on the perspective of business leaders, as well as their opinions and attitude towards the problem. Guided interviews have been undertaken with test persons from multiple companies. In the course of the paper the answers to the following questions are being worked out: “How do leaders define inner resignation?”, “Which aspects of the phenomenon do leaders consider particularly important?” and “What are appropriate measures against inner resignation as proposed by leaders?”. Finally the paper closes in discussing the insights provided and by deducing recommended procedures against inner resignation. All interviewees come to similar conclusions and sense a trend towards “work-to-rule” behavior of affected employees. Prominent counter measures against inner resignation proposed, range from mutual respect over a balanced chance for private as well as professional exchange between colleagues to regular appraisal interviews.
