Das Ausmaß der Kulturdistanz zwischen Ländern, hat einen Einfluss auf die Verständigungssituation. Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, die Verständigungssituation zweier Länder mit unterschiedlicher Kulturdistanz bezogen auf Österreich zu untersuchen und den Kommunikationserfolg anhand einer empirischen Untersuchung in Form von qualitativen Interviews mit Personen aus dem philippinischen und dem englischen Kulturkreis zu erheben und Unterschiede bzw. Gemeinsamkeiten in der interkulturellen Kommunikation festzuhalten.

The extent of cultural distance between countries has an influence on the communication situation. The aim of this thesis is to investigate the communication situation of two countries with differing cultural distance as compared to Austria and to determine the quality of communication by conducting an empirical investigation by means of qualitative interviews with people from the Philippine and British Society, and to determine differences and similarities regarding cross-cultural communication.
