Aufgrund der beruflichen Tätigkeit im Dienstleistungsbereich ist eine Vielzahl der beschäftigten Menschen in Österreich mit Emotionsarbeit konfrontiert. Aus dem Wunsch nach Zielerreichung der Unternehmen entstehen die Vorgaben, wie Emotionsarbeit von den Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeitern ausgeführt werden soll. Mittels einer Literaturanalyse wird die zentrale Fragestellung beantwortet, welche Auswirkungen die Emotionsarbeit auf die Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter im Dienstleistungssektor hat. Einerseits wurden negative Folgen von Emotionsarbeit gefunden, andererseits kann sich Emotionsarbeit unter gewissen Voraussetzungen aber auch positiv auf die Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter auswirken. Die Voraussetzungen für eine erfolgreiche Emotionsarbeit können von den Unternehmen geschaffen werden.

Due to employment in the service sector, a great number of people in Austria is confronted with emotional labor. The need to attain business goals has led to certain guidelines on how to put emotional labor into practice. By reviewing existing literature in the field, the central issue of the effects of emotional labor on the employees in the service sector will be addressed. Although negative effects of emotional labor can be observed, certain conditions can lead to a positive effect on a company’s employees. These conditions necessary for successful emotional labor can be created by the respective company.
