This study with the title "Dying and Death – a Good Place to Die" is divided into 2 main parts and 6 chapters. It deals with answering the question of people’s preferred place to die.
In the first part, a literature study was conducted in an attempt to understand the current situation with regard to the distribution of places of death. For this purpose, various analyses and published studies are considered and an attempt is made to show and analyse the development of places of death over time. Through this literature study, the real situation with regard to the various places of death is depicted.
The second section of the paper is more concerned with the wishes in relation to the dying process, whereby the main element in this section is a survey that was carried out. By means of questionnaires, a defined group of participants was interviewed on the topics of dying, death and their preferred environments, and the results were analysed and interpreted, using
methods from descriptive statistics. In summary, the outcome of the two study results were again compared at the end of the work and examined for similarities and discrepancies.
