The rapid growth and development of digital transformation poses major challenges for companies worldwide, as it is an ongoing process and technologies are constantly evolving. The thesis deals with the question of what opportunities or uncertainties arise from the digital transformation for older employees of the 50+ generation in production companies and what consequences arise from this. The results are based on a literature analysis. It is shown that there is a major shortage of skilled workers in companies due to staff turnover. The networking of machines and personnel requires corresponding further training offensives, as work processes and activities are changing. Reducing prejudices against older employees and adapting workplaces can help to improve the personnel situation. In the course of the bachelor thesis, it is shown that there is a lot of unused potential in companies in the course of digital transformation.
