Das Thema Migration in der stationären Altenbetreuung wird in naher Zukunft für alle Beteiligten zum Thema. Die Notwendigkeit der stationären Altenbetreuung von Personen mit Migrationshintergrund im Burgenland, bedingt durch die demografische Entwicklung, wird zunehmen. Die Gastarbeiterinnen und Gastarbeiter, welche aus den 1960er Jahren nach Österreich immigriert sind, sind nicht wie von der Bundesregierung geplant im Alter wieder in Ihr Herkunftsland zurückgekehrt. Diese Personengruppe wird in naher Zukunft pflegebedürftig werden. Aufgrund der wandelnden Gesellschaft kann nicht damit gerechnet werden, dass die Pflege dieser Personen im Familienverbund stattfindet. Natürlich wird im Burgenland mit dem Projekt der Pflege Service Burgenland GmbH mit dem Projekt pflegende Angehörige zu unterstützen und anzustellen, die Pflege durch Angehörige zu forcieren. Nichts desto trotz wird für Personen mit Migrationshintergrund und anderen Wertvorstellungen, Traditionen und kulturellen Hintergründen Platz in der stationären Altenpflege geschaffen werden. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass pflegebedürftige Personen mit Migrationshintergrund in geringer Anzahl in Altenbetreuungs- und Pflegeinrichtungen untergebracht sind, diese jedoch keine speziellen Anforderungen an die Pflege und Betreuung stellen. Das Pflegepersonal sowie die Einrichtungen gehen auf die vereinzelten Wünsche der Patienten und Patientinnen mit Migrationshintergrund ein, mitunter bedeutet der Platz für die Ausübung der Religion zu schaffen und auf Ernährungswünsche acht zu geben.

The topic of migration in inpatient care for the elderly will become an issue for all parties involved in the near future. The need for inpatient geriatric care for persons with a migration background in Burgenland will increase due to demographic developments. The guest workers who immigrated to Austria in the 1960s did not return to their country of origin in old age as planned by the federal government. This group of people will be in need of care in the near future. Due to the changing society, it cannot be expected that the care of these persons will take place within the family. Of course, in Burgenland the project of Pflege Service Burgenland GmbH to support and employ caring relatives is aimed at promoting care by relatives. Nevertheless, space will be created in inpatient care for the elderly for persons with a migration background and other values, traditions and cultural backgrounds. The results show that a small number of persons in need of care with a migration background are accommodated in residential care and nursing facilities for the elderly, but that they do not have any special requirements in terms of nursing and care. The nursing staff as well as the facilities respond to the isolated wishes of patients with a migration background, sometimes this means creating space for the practice of religion and paying attention to dietary wishes.
