The objective of this survey is to produce an efficient and uncomplicated planning and automated reorganization of tasks through the interaction of divergent Google products from the Google GSuite. By defining the terms time and task management and their methods it turns out that time and task planning cannot always be divided in practice. This indicates that time management methods can also be used for task management.
Derived from the literature survey the functionalities of the tools Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft ToDo, Trello and Google Task are determined. Brainstorming is used to identify potential for improvement, with the help of which automated planning and reorganization can be made possible. Requirements for the prototype to be developed are derived from the improvement potential and the development is carried out.
With the help of Google Apps Script it is achievable to implement code that promotes interaction between Google products such as Google Sheets, Google Calendar and Gmail. Therefore the prototype can schedule tasks considering the available resources, according to the calendar, the maximum working time and the time window. If necessary the prototype is also able to split tasks over several days. If there is a change in Google Calendar or in the tasks, all automatically created appointments for tasks in the future get reorganized.
The functionalities and benefits of the prototype are determined using usability tests. The prototype fulfills all defined requirements and is found to be very useful by the test subjects. The prototype therefore also serves as an answer to the following research question: To what extent can gaps in current time and task management systems be closed by a development that promotes the interaction of different Google products, in order to ensure simple planning and reorganization of tasks?
